Intel telah mengumumkan pemproses terbaru mereka yang mempunyai enam teras, 12-bebenang untuk laptop. Kelajuan atau frekuensi standard bagi Turbo Boost ini ialah 4.6GHz, manakala ia dapat melonjak kepada 4.8GHz apabila suhunya di bawah 53 darjah Celcius. Intel menggelar ia sebagai ‘Thermal Velocity Boost’.
Intel Core i9-8950HK ialah pemproses versi mobil dari pemproses high-end versi desktop mereka. Ia adalah Core i9 pertama yang dibuat untuk laptop yang mana prestasinya dikatakan 29% lebih pantas untuk tugasan harian berbanding Core i7-7820HK.
Intel juga mengatakan ianya 59% lebih pantas bagi penyuntingan video 4K berbanding chip tersebut. Selain itu, ia didatangkan dalam keadaan unlocked, jadi pengguna boleh overclock sekiranya mereka mahu.

The new 8th Gen Intel Core i9, i7 and i5 processors for laptops are based on the Coffee Lake platform and leverage the 14nm++ process technology enabling them to deliver up to 41 percent more frames per second in gameplay or edit 4K video up to 59 percent faster than the previous generation with same discrete graphics.
